West Coast Container Homes

With over 25 years in construction, founder Adam Benning faced ethical concerns about waste and resource use in residential renovation. This led him to shift focus towards building high-quality, sustainable products on a smaller scale. Their mission is to create enduring living spaces using local materials and trades, minimizing waste and reducing our carbon footprint.

Adam requested that I revamp the current brand-focused website to emphasize sales. His goal for the redesign was to create a site that highlights the company’s products, enhances the existing branding, and maintains a cohesive overall look.

BRANDING

Drawing inspiration from the company's BC roots and the craftsmanship of each pod, the client requested illustrations of all aspects, including interiors, exteriors, and floor plans. Instead of a modern Autocad style, he preferred a more handcrafted appearance.

Below are the illustrations for the "Kitchen Pod," which maintains a cohesive style consistent with the other available pods, as requested by the client.

USERFLOW

One of the main challenges of this project was simplifying the vast content from the previous site. To address this, I revamped the user flow and prioritized key elements to make the information more digestible and user-friendly.

The redesign also introduced interactive web elements to reduce page clutter, a feature missing from the previous version. Additionally, I reviewed and condensed the text to ensure it was clear, concise, and engaging, helping to maintain the user's attention.
